I bring over 12 years of vast and varied GIS industry experience to the classroom. My primary goals are to engage learners and to prepare GIS students for their futures; whether it involves continuing education, GIS professional work, or using GIS as a complementary technology within another discipline.
I love my job.
Before coming to Selkirk College, I am lucky to have worked for large corporations, small consulting companies, provincial and municipal governments. I’ve developed a diverse background and strong GIS industry knowledge. Staying connected allows me to keep up to date with the ever evolving GIS technology, where “change is the only constant”.
I infuse Professional Executive Coaching skills in hopes of creating a genuinely supported learning environment tailored to each unique student.
I’m a wanna-be athlete who loves riding any kind of bike and both downhill and cross country skiing. I volunteer on our local community Recreation Committee and can’t stop myself from getting involved in things that are important to me.
I try to occasionally blog about Studying GIS at Selkirk College and about my community.
Right now I’m undertaking an MSc in GIS specializing in using GIS for Health Analysis.
I moved to the Kootenays in 2008 for the lifestyle, outdoors, and the incredible Kootenay people.
